INTRODUCTION:

Deworming is also called worming, dehelmintization or drenching. Deworming is the process to kill the tapeworm, roundworm or hookworm which can infect children. These worms reside in the body. These worms are called parasites. It can not only occur in kids but adults too.

In children, deworming is very important. It reduces the chance of worm infestation. This also lowers the chances of anaemia. This also lowers the chances of hospital admission. It increases the children’s immunity.

Contaminated food, poor hygiene, impure water, soil etc are potential sources of infection. You can use medicines and syrup to avoid such infections.

This infection can occur in cattle also but we are seeing the deworming in humans.

Deworming is the medicated process to kill the worms in the human body. Further, it is the process of expelling parasitic worms out of the human body.

IMPORTANCE OF DEWORMING:

Parasitic worms like hookworms, roundworms etc. in the human body can cause malnutrition. Also, deworming medicines can help in the absorption of nutrients from food and can kill the worms.

Larvae of parasitic worms can be found in contaminated water and food and can affect human’s health. And, deworming tablets are important in such a condition.

SYMPTOMS OF INTESTINAL WORMS:

Common Symptoms of intestinal worms are as follows,

  • Weight loss
  • Fatigue
  • Abdominal pain
  • Gas
  • Diarrhea or vomiting
  • Weakness
  • Dehydration etc.

DIAGNOSING INTESTINAL WORMS:

  • Blood test
  • Fecal test
  • Colonoscopy- which can use small camera.
  • And, checking fingernail. Your doctor will examine the nails of infected person for the presence of eggs of worms.

TREATMENT OF INTESTINAL WORM:

Firstly, an infected person doesn’t need any special treatment for parasitic worms. Further, a person’s immunity will best help in such conditions. Also, sometimes your doctor will give you medicines to get rid of intestinal worms.

PREVENTION:

Firstly, sanitisation plays a vital role to prevent intestinal worms. Further, some of the preventive measures can be taken as follows,

  1. Wash your hands with soap and water before and after use of the toilet.
  2. Drink filtered water.
  3. Cook meat properly before eating.
  4. Do not defecate in the open.
  5. And, always cut your nails.

HOME REMEDIES FOR DEWORMING:

Further, add garlic, carrots, Turmeric, coconut to your diet.
