We all know whether we are sleeping for an adequate time period or not. But do we know adequate time for sleep? In this article, we are going to see the adequate time of sleeping from children to senior citizens.
Ample Sleep can make your day active, healthy, and keep your looks better. The habit of doing certain things in an uncertain time can interfere with your body’s sense of sleep. Even it can lead to chemical changes in the body that can cause sleep deprivation. For instance, Drinking alcohol & coffee or other instant energy drinks, Alarm clock, Sunlight can deviate your sleeping sense. Nowadays youngsters are taking sleeping pills to get a nap. It is very essential to get a nap at the proper time to lead a stress-free life.
Newborn (up to 3 months)
A newborn baby needs 14 – 17 hours of nap per day to be active and healthy. 11- 13 hours of sleep per day is also sufficient. But, they should not nap more than 19 hours in a day which could make them lazy.
Childrens (4 – 11 months)
These age group children should sleep from 12 – 15 hours a day. At Least they should nap for 10 hours a day. They should not cross 18 hours of sleeping per day.
Childrens (1 – 2 years)
Children from this age group can sleep up to 14 hours. 9 – 16 hours of nap is sufficient for them.
Pre-School Children (3-5 years)
Experts recommend 10-13 hours of sleep for preschool children. They should not nap less than 8 hours and more than 14 hours in a day.
School Age Childrens (6-13 years)
These children should have regular sleep of 9-11 hours in a day. Even, it can be 7 hours a day but it should not be more than 12 hours that can spoil their health.
Teenagers (14-17 years)
The recommended time for sleeping was from 8 to 10 hours. They should not nap less than 7 hours or more than 11 hours. An uncertain nap may alter their mental health.
Adolescents (18-25 years)
Daily nap for 7 to 9 hours was important for their mental and physical health. It should not below 6 hours or above 11 hours.
Adults Sleep Time (26-64 years)
They should maintain the same sleeping intervals as adolescents. i.e. 7-9 hours of regular sleep per day.
Senior citizens Sleep Cycle (65 and above)
The healthiest sleeping time is between 7-8 hours. It should not above 9 hours. It can be 5 hours for some days when you have things to do.
